WAY better than it's price suggests
This guitar is way batter than its price would suggest. I didn't have to do a set up on it, it plays great right out of the box. The pickups sound like they belong in a jazzmaster. The switch feels good. Holds tune. Overall a great guitar!I lucked out and got one with a lot of birdseye figuring in the neck.I got it to mod it and the cost of the guitar and the mods was about equal to the cost of a classic vibe jazzmaster. My only real gripe with the guitar is the whammy bar hangs right over the control knobs, so you have to reach around it. The output jack feels like it doesn't have a lot of retention force, either. These are the only reasons for the 4 stars instead of 5

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful budget guitar. Don’t hesitate!
Reviewed in the United States on January 18, 2023
I LOVE this guitar. I have been admiring the Lake Placid blue since I saw it. What the pics and listing don’t mention is that LPBlue is a metallic color! It is full of shimmering flakes that really up the visual appeal of this instrument beyond what the photos can depict. Now how does it play? Mine arrived in excellent condition, with intonation virtually perfect out of the box. Maybe I got lucky, but many other reviewers seem to have had the same luck. The single-coil pickups provide a nice sonic toolset for a variety of Fender classic tones, and the neck and fretboard are a nice balance between technically demanding (sharp frets) and smooth strumming (polished neck). In summary, this is an incredible value Squier guitar and I can’t believe I was on the fence for so long. If you want one, BUY ONE!

5.0 out of 5 stars A squire for under 4 Bill's Canadian
Reviewed in Canada on March 26, 2023
I loved it! Especially the neck. Gloss finish on the head stock, slick sliding satin on the neck. Well finished fret ends and perfectly set up. The action may be a bit tall, but just right for a struming hack like myself. I think I got the wrong color as you can tell from the photo. What a happy accident, it's way better then its advertised. It's like a purple champagne metallic color. So cool! I changed out the knobs for chrome and I'll be swapping out the pick guard for a white pearl. That'll make it look like a million bucks. The pick ups sound good and the tuners work. No buyers remorse here.
